Notice
The main riff in this song is reminiscent of Led Zeppelin, most notably "Black Dog" and "The Ocean," and is based on the E blues scale (E,G,A,Bb,B,D). Notice how Mark Kendall utilizes a palm mute for the single notes, releasing only for the chord accents; this is a technique he uses for the entire tune.
Kendall's solo is based on the E blues scale also, and utilizes a wah-wah pedal in a Jimi Hendrix manner, combining muted string-strumming with single-note lines. His phrases over the G5 chord are in the style of Jeff Beck, combining bends with tremolo bar vibratos. The coda features a move to double-time, as the song does a bit of a rave-up before the return of the signature lick.
